Homecoming is often advertised as the biggest and most exciting event of the school year, but for some girls, it’s the most stressful as well. The task of finding a dress was the hardest part for me, so I hope this article helps you find the perfect dress for the Hollywood theme!

When you think of Hollywood, what comes to mind? Deep, rich colors, long, silky dresses, shine, and glamour. A good reference for this style are red carpet photos. A hallmark of Hollywood are long dresses, though shorter lengths are welcome as well. Mermaid, A-line, and basque are all common cuts for longer dresses. If you opt for a shorter dress, strapless, plunge neckline, and one-shoulder is the way to go. Sparkles and silk are staples, but fabrics are quite varied on red carpets, so don’t be afraid to experiment. Even a simple dress can be elevated with the right jewelry and shoes. Don’t forget about accessories!

A common place to get formal dresses is Windsor. While their dresses do lean towards the expensive side, they have timeless cuts that are worth investing in and fit this year’s theme!

If a shorter dress is more your style, Lulus is an affordable option. Their maxi dresses are beautiful as well, but you may have to do some digging to find ones that actually fit this year’s theme.
