Students watch intently as the quick flick of a wrist sends a plastic orange ball spiraling across the long table. Shouts of victory and groans of defeat ensue while the hollow pinging of paddle-to-ball continues in the background.

On Feb 16, Conant’s Ping Pong Club hosted a school-wide ping pong tournament. The single-elimination bracket pitted 32 students and staff against each other for the prize of a new set of high quality ping pong paddles. After two days of intense competition, Vivek Sharma, ‘23, emerged victorious as the winner of the tournament.

Ping Pong club student leader and tournament organizer Yash Thakker, ‘23, hailed the tournament as a successful event.

“We wanted to bring people together with some fun competition,” said Thakker. “Everyone was engaged constantly. It was an exciting event and I think everybody had fun.”
