Congratulations, it’s a flour baby!
Flour baby fever hit Conant High School this week as Advanced Placement Psychology students brought their newborn flour babies to class.
These sacks of flour decorated to look like babies are a project for AP Psychology’s development unit. To connect students’ learning to the real world, the AP Psychology teachers teamed up to create this new project.
Jennifer Stearns, an AP Psychology teacher, explains that the project “not only ties in with what we’re learning about, but also [students] kind of understand the commitment and the responsibilities that go with being a parent.”
One of the biggest responsibilities students have had to face is keeping their eyes on their baby at all times. This means finding a babysitter any time the student needs to leave the room or attend a class where they won’t be able to keep tabs on their baby.
To honor this new Conant tradition, meet some of the newest flour-filled additions to our student body!
