Northrop Grumman’s aerospace vice president visits Conant

Vice President of Northrop Grumman’s Aerospace Systems sector Mary Petryszyn visited Conant’s National Honor Society on March 13. Northrop Grumman is a global security company that distributes products to government and commercial customers.

At every monthly meeting, NHS invites a different speaker that comes to talk to NHS members about the importance of character, service, leadership, and scholarship within the community.

Petryszyn started off her career as an engineer and later pursued a leadership role in her company. Petryszyn also hopes to inspire students to follow their goals. Petryszyn said, “You have to run into things, not away from things. If there’s something you’re not sure of, try it. Fail early and fast, and if it’s not going to go well, then move on to the next thing and what you’re really going to be good and successful at.”

Petryszyn also said, “I think that the best way to inspire anybody is by being a role model, by showing it, not just saying it.”
