Conant students, staff, and volunteers helped to raise over $5,000 by supporting the annual St. Baldrick’s fundraiser hosted by NHS. The money helps to provide support for those with childhood cancer and funds research. It took place on Friday, March 10.
To raise the money, twelve people–two teachers and ten students–shaved their heads. Hair stylists from Sport Clips volunteered to do the shaving for the event. The shavees and volunteers all received t-shirts with the theme of this year’s event, “Rock the Bald.” The shavees also fundraised for the charity before hand.
Top individual fundraisers were Alyce Borkenhagen, ’18, with $1,424.99, Alexandra Terrado, ’18, with $880, and Brianna Chahine, ’18, with $709. Two-team fundraisers were ShriyAlex, led by Alexandra Terrado with $1.435.99; Bald Boyz, led by Himal Patel, ’18, with $445; and Bald and Boujee, led by Suraj Patel, ’18, with $253.
